Hi.  Been away for a bit.  Sorry. :-[

A few weeks back I attempted to do my best at an original love ballad.  I hope you like it.  Vocals could be better but I'm getting old.

The first time you passed my way
with that smile upon your face that day
made me feel my life had just begun
Who would have known I finally found the one
who was to make my dark world enlighten
I have waited all my life for you
From that first moment a dream began
The day you reached out to take my hand

Your beauty has made me whole
You bring be happiness I've never known
And your love's endured through so many miles
Helped me survive the pain of the many trials
We've finally reached a time of understanding
A strength we've never really known before
We've shared the laughs and tears of life's demands
All through the years as you reached out to take my hand

Bright are the promises you make me
They always will be fulfilled
Tender words from your lips to my ears
bring such a joy to my heart that's so dear

And as our years carry on
I have the sweetness in my life to keep me strong
Every day with you brings so much great joy
We have a bond that never will be destroyed
You've given me all that I've needed through time
A love so everlasting and so fine
To think back on the sweet days our love began
I feel so blessed that you reached out to take my hand.

Tender words from your lips to my ears
bring me a joy to my heart that's so dear

The first time you passed my way
with that smile upon your face that day
In that first moment a dream began
I feel so blessed that you reached out to take my hand

Life is not about the number of Breathes you take, it is the amount of times your breathe is taken away

If you swim against the tide long enough, it turns and becomes momentum.........

Beautiful songwriting and a stellar performance. Sounds like a lost 70's classic. Such poise and quality!

I think that you not only attempted it, but nailed it too.

Great melodically, it has all the right bits and they're put together in a way that works beautifully. Congratulations!

Nice to see you back John. This is all very well composed and produced. A really "classic" ballad feel here with a lovely clear production. I thought the vocals were pretty damn good. We are all getting older but you can still nail the parts IMO.

Not using Samplitude anymore? IIRC you turned me on to that many years ago, and I still use it as my DAW.
