Finally I had a chance to play with my band (it's been months...) but without the singer so we tried a thing that I played around with and once posted here. This is first take, just after I had played the basics of it. Recorded with a stereo mic in the middle. We are rusty and very loose, and we are testing ideas as we play along, but...

What do you think?
Any suggestions?
Should we keep it as an instrumental?
If it needs singing, feel free to add.
— actually, feel free to do whatever you want.

Have listened to this a couple of times now (3rd spin in the background as I type this). I think it's a great recording considering it's only one stereo mic used.

It could stay as an instrumental jam-type tune but I can also hear some Captain Beefheart type vocals fitting well with this one!!

If you decide to keep it as an instrumental I would suggest that you "compose" a little melody-line that can appear 3 or four times throughout the song, that will make it more "complete" imho.

I liked it anyway 8), and may be jamming to this one on a night i miss my band :). If I do I'll post the result !!

Oh well ........

There's more than enough musical shifts in this make it stand up as an interesting instrumental. Personally, I love songs with vocals, but I can see someone having a hard time getting a lyric around all the structural changes going on. So keep it as it is? Good stuff though!!!!!!

What a surprise finding this little gem, bearing in mind I have never played "live" with anyone......  :'(
I cranked my speakers on Full and let rip and added "a spoonful of 48" ;D
It's the best fun I've had for years, I feel like a real guitarist...... 8)
Massive thanks Madrab ;)
First take warts and all (as it should be "live")
I'm so happy I could Sh*t! ;D ;D ;D

Bro

Loved it! It could be a really great fusion jazz song if it had some hammond organ layed on top of it! :D Loved it!

I might add some lead guitar if i get the time!
If you loose track over a chord progression, play as fast as you possibly can. Nobody will know. Thats how they invented bebop.

Good job 48. Especially since you didn't get any visual cues from the rest of us. (there is alot of that going on)
0jh:x0 A hammond organ would be amazing. We talked about that. I guess thats why I like my coolcat vibe box so much. Please add guitar.

There's no jeff beck -wannabe here? It could use some of his... I don't know how to describe it, but he says it has to do with his "damaged brain" or "naughtyness".

And if anyone has an idea for lyrics but find it hard to fit in to the some of the structure. Let me know, we might rerecord or atleast make a sketch...

Here's another recording of the same thing. Done after lunch. You might want to have a go at this one instead.
