Hi all, still struggling to play the Mandolin, maybe one day. The one thing I have noticed while coming to grips with various physical irritations is that I now spend more time and effort on production which is no bad thing. I still lose patience when the sound in my head doesn't sound the same as I'm getting out of my headphones but I think that will always be the case. Anyway, here's another one cobbled together over the last couple of days.  Hope you enjoy.   Willie

I know it's hard, I know it's true
My life has turned to neon blue
So kiss my cheek and say goodbye
With no regrets no alibi's

And in a while you say, you say that  I'lli be fine
It just takes time
So let her go but let her know
Just what she's left behind

And I won't cry as she walks by
I know that she can't see me
I won't weep in my sleep
Dreaming that your near me

And in a while you say, you say that I'll be fine
It just takes time
Let her go but let her know that
Just what she's left behind

Instrumental

And in a while you say, you say that I'll be fine
It just takes time
So let her go but let her know that
Just what she's left behind

Really nice, Willie. Jangly and wistful. The playing, songwriting and production is top notch. Whether it was the sound you wanted or not, it sounded good and right to my ears. The mandolin adds a very classy edge.

Yes I got a mandolin last year while I can play chords it still does not sound like what I want in my head. But it sounds just fine on this song and I am loving the blues fest

Life is not about the number of Breathes you take, it is the amount of times your breathe is taken away

It's very beautiful Willie. I've had it looping for ages and really enjoyed it. It's the composition, vocals and lyrics that shine through for me. You are a great songwriter, in some ways your guitar playing is secondary, so IMO it's really good that you are still writing and producing in any way you can.

I have to say the mix does sound a little trebly to me (listening with hearing aids and studio monitors), maybe a high cut might help, but that's probably only because my hearing aids compensate for all my high frequency hearing loss. The normal non-bionic humans might not pick that up....  ;) That's the frustration we both share I think - what we hear without the aids is so different to what we hear with them in.
