Everything comes at once: Monday, another milestone, record rainfall, and a zombie apocalypse  ::)

I have a substantial backlog of unheard material, thanks to being unemployed for a lot of last year. That meant a new album every other week, plus all kinds of other creative projects as I slipped further into debt and depression (and all that jazz).

To mark my 9000th post, this one features Tanglewood acoustic, Fender MiM Stratocaster (through my pedalboard - Fulltone OCD + chorus, I think), Jazz bass, and vocals, plus Garageband drums, electric piano and synths. All recorded and mixed on the MBR (of course). I just got another (used) MBR because my original one has a dodgy headphone jack after 1,500+ songs.

we are thick as thieves
in the heart of the labyrinth
rainbow minotaurs
and neon dogs of war

behind that screen
the wizards are scheming
guns and artifice
to shoot down our bliss

I saw through the disguise like sherlock holmes
a sundial shadow cast by a spire upon the bones

Love and honesty but stealing what we need
the underdogs believe
honour amongst thieves

Jewels for she and serendipity
the underdogs believe
honour amongst thieves

there's a frozen beast
with a heart made of winter
icy esplanades
in seaside towns of grey

a slow-burning cigarette
as red as the devil
cities laid to waste
lounges of bad taste

I saw through the disguise like sherlock holmes
a sundial shadow cast by a spire upon the bones

Love and honesty but stealing what we need
the underdogs believe
honour amongst thieves

Jewels for she and serendipity
the underdogs believe
honour amongst thieves

I get to reply first!! Woohoo!!!

Congratulations on your 9000th post!

And pure green goodness oozing out of my headphones.

Actually, I've listened on my crappy Skype headset so I can't hear the bass.

After this meeting I'll have a proper listen but so far this sounds fab.

And 9000 posts!

It should be 18000!

Cracking Tim, nice to see you

I've had a chance to have a proper listen.

It amazes me how you get such good production on the silver box.

Mine is now in Aus.

This is wonderful Tim. Beautifully done and a fab track.

Congrats on the 9000 posts milestone Greeny. Another Greeny Monday to cheer us up! This has your signature stamp on it of thoughtful/poetic lyric, a great melody/vocal, and some fine music to back it all up. Very well done and I hope you'll be able to post some more when time allows.

I'm sorry to hear about your troubles, life sure does get in the way.

Congratulations Tim! You're my Super Hero! :) Wonderful to hear new music from you. You are such a talent. Like this song, so perfectly done. I don´t understand very well English, but I think the words are little sad but tune have very positive feeling. Maybe it´s like that in life too. Many things are much better than 50 years ago, but still there is so many difficult things going on. It depresses people. But we must fight and try to enjoy our life the best we can. We have only this one life.

Welcome back Tim, sorry to hear life has been dealing you some bad cards. Your musical force is still very strong though, which is good to hear. This is another cracker and you are true to the origins of this site in the little silver brick. You really have mastered the MicroBR (bit of a pun there) because the production sounds so full and broad in the stereo image. It leaps out of the speakers, grabs you in its musical arms and gives you a gurt big Greeny hug.

Lovely guitar work, very nice additions from Garageband. The one limitation of the little silver brick was always the drums, the Garageband ones sound much nicer and you use them well. Great lyrics and vocals as well. I really wish your music was more widely heard because you have real talent and are still young enough to share it with others. But it's great that we get to hear your stuff and this was a fantastic listen, I really enjoyed it. Well done, please keep them coming.
