I drifted a bit into "country" space with this song.  Been trying to teach myself banjo the last couple months so wrote something to try and use it.....not exactly Earl Scruggs here :)   Anyway, here's a "shit-kicker" about a married gal with loose morals.

Forget About Me            words & music: Vance Grazio     ©2020

Marriage left her lonely, acted on her desires
Found herself a lover, balanced on a wire
He fed her flaming passion, he made her howl and scream
She told him that she loved him, the answer to her dreams

One day she mentioned to him, she wished her man were dead,
He'd whipped his phone across the room and barely missed her head,
Be careful what you wish for; be careful what you do,
Soon after that he heard from her that wish had just come true

The peak blew off the top of her mountain
Her ship sank to the bottom of the sea
She said "I need to go and seek redemption,
So just, forget about me"

Redemption can be fleeting; a new man came along,
A throwback from her distant past she loved for so damn long,
He promised they would marry, that this was meant to last,
The seam that joined them ripped apart, it never came to pass

Went back to her first lover, one long and lonely night
Armed with empty promises but things were black and white
He knew that every word she said would prove to be just lies
But made her howl and scream once more before they said good-bye

The peaks blew off the tops of their mountains
Their ships met at the bottom of the sea
He heard no further talk about redemption
And said, just forget about me
But you won't, forget about me

"Play because you love it. Don't worry about if it will ever make any money, just understand that playing is an end in itself, and you play music, it will make your life better. And, don't worry about being a star, don't worry about making money, worry about nothing, just sit down with your guitar and let it speak to you and that will make your life better. It will bring beauty into your life. It's a great thing to do."     ---- David Crosby

Sounds great and the banjo is good I have one that collects dust mostly I think it is easier if you learn the banjo first then the guitar At least that is what I am saying for my crappy banjo playing lol

Life is not about the number of Breathes you take, it is the amount of times your breathe is taken away

Great tune. The banjo is great. I think I would like to give it a go too some day. Back to the song... really good songwriting and everything gels really well, your vocals, banjo and that lead break too is way cool.

I have just finished watching Sons of Anarchy on Netflix. I can just imagine this track as as soundtrack in one of the episodes. (By the way this is not a recommendation for Sons of Anarchy... it's a strange series... kind of addictive but it overdoes the violence a bit)

Brilliant! Great songwriting and composition. The way you use the banjo is very clever, it helps swing the song along and creates a nice melodic underpinning. I really liked the guitars in the middle as well. It's also very nicely recorded and mixed. Everything is crystal clear and it all hangs together brilliantly.

Great work!
