I really wanted to do a song with George Ballentine (Dobrodaddy)...we share the same taste for slide instruments (Weissenborn, Dobro, lapsteel...).

He sent me his guitar/vocal cover file of this great Blues/ragtime standard "Nobody knows you when you down and out" which, strangely enough, has never been posted on SC?
I completed it with a 2nd guitar, a bit of Dobro, a bit of percussion with an old bodhran, (that's all I had on hand.)...  and some hearts that, for lack of having THE JORDANAIRE, were made by the Dalton brothers of the Jahia Band.
Thank you George for sharing.
I don't know half of you half as well as I should like, and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.

Life is not about the number of Breathes you take, it is the amount of times your breathe is taken away

I'm so impressed w all the additions you made Jean Pierre!  Really makes the song much more full and fun! You're a very talented musician and studio engineer. Merci beaucoup, mon ami!

Thanks for listening!

I'm very happy to put this video clip of a voice/guitar track edited by our friend George and a few  additions from me.
it's possible through the magic of the internet to exchange the same taste for certain musics !

Superb collab, also really enjoyed the video - nice to see George sat on the porch! JP, your additions work really well, I liked all the little backing vocal stuff. There's real atmosphere here along with some beautiful playing. Nice to see old things being put to such good use - the guitars aren't bad either..... ;) ;D

thank you Tim, Hook, and ferryman

One of the things I like the most in Sc is the possibility to share and do things in common between people who are so distant geographically, and undoubtedly culturally ... but who have a common passion for music, I would say universal.

...and one of the most beautiful memories I have on SC is to have shared not only beyond space but beyond time with a person that I unfortunately did not know and that we all admire Rob Burns and I allow myself to bump up this song that we made together I would say post mortem

I don't know half of you half as well as I should like, and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.
