Dobrodaddy posted this, https://songcrafters.org/forum/index.php?topic=29188.0   i said i might try a lyric if i get a chance. Well had a day off and this is my second collab with Geo.

It is what it is.
Well it's cold as hell
and it's dry as dust
gotta stay indoors
or your bones might rust

well the atmosphere's
not much of much
ain't nuthin happened
since I don't know when

well the guys next door
don't come round much
'cept to throw some rocks
and crash their trucks
'cept to throw some rocks
and crash their trucks
'cept to throw some rocks
and crash their trucks

Fourth door down from the sun
you can try live here but it ain't much fun
the dirts all red and the air's too thin
no wonder martians get the blues
no wonder martians get the blues
no wonder martians get the blues

That's brilliant, James!!! I'm so impressed you could create good lyrics to fit against the improv. VERY COOL. Thank you! You've got serious MOJO!

Thanks for listening!

it's awesome! i'd already loved the music by my friend George 'and his friend) but now with the lyrics it's really excellent.
I already thought that the music alone made me think of the western "Alien and the cowboys", but there again more!

Bravo and congratulations to all of you, I hope it will make Dobbrodaddy want to come a bit more on SC, it's his house!
PS I'm in the process of completing a guitar/voice version of "nobody knows when you down and out" made by George, as long as it's at least as good.

Bloody hell, Tom Waits just showed up! This is absolutely wonderful!! Jim, you have surpassed yourself with the lyrics, they are so clever and just complement the original track sooo well. And the vocal performance and way you recorded the vox are fantastic - what vocal patch did you use?

This has taken a superb track to another level. Fabulous guys, just fabulous. My only criticism? It's too short, I'd love more of this kind of thing.

it is a great tune all around ~ downloaded both versions ~~~  James ability as a music weave master to weave lyrics and his vocals into multiple patterns, has added two more dimensions to an already fantastic original with this song ~~~

cheers Nigel, i was going for don van vliet not tom waits lol. i used fornylon patch on my microbr tweaked with tap delay and noise reduction and recorded to a two tracks to give a faux stereo effect with the tap delay bouncing round the stereo spectrum.

Thank you all for your wonderful comments!

Jean Pierre, James really did bring out the "Aliens and Cowboys" in the song. Are you familiar w the TV series "Firefly"? Very similar idea. And great theme song too. I'll see if I can find my cover of it and post it.

Spot on Diego! I hadn't heard this side of James's vox repertoire and was blown away.

Nigel, we'll see if we can come up w something longer. I was amazed what James did w this brief piece. And such cool lyrics against my rather irregular phrasing on the improv

Thanks for listening!
