one for the futurefest. I did the drums and keys in garageband on my macbook using my korg nanokey2. Mixed that to a stereo wav and imported the wav file into my BR800 and then added two rhythm guitar tracks on my Harley Benton Telecaster copy and did vocals using my trusty MicroBR as a mic.

Update 05.01.20: new mix posted. I wasn't happy with the way the bass synth was affecting the overall mix, so i removed it and played a new bass line on my Epiphone SG bass.

It is what it is.

Is this the future
You've been waiting for
A world with hope
Or is it something else
Is it the past
You're escaping from
Something
You can't let go

You can't remain
In the present tense
You know It doesn't make
An ounce of sense

Is it the now
You will never know
Is it today
You can never be
A lonely road
Or a busy street
Which turn
Will you choose

You can't remain
In the present tense
You know it doesn't make
An ounce of sense
whit goes oan in ma heid

That's a good rhythm track to build on. Those held notes work very well in the melody. And I love how you've buried the vocal but it's still discernible. It's a cool effect.

Your voice and instrumentation are very ethereal and the synchopated drum tracks push it right along. Great lyrics and delivery as always. HB Tele sounds great as does your SG bass. Good choices. DD

Thanks for listening!

Great and "trippy" mood, James.  would have the vocals up a tad for those of us with tinnitus:  )_~~~

Beautiful but a bit unsettling at the same time. Just like the future - so its just perfect.  At least I hope the future is beautiful......

Nice trippy track Jim with great lyrics. Love the chorus lines. Has a bit of a Flaming Lips vibe for me, which is a really good thing in my book!

This has your style stamped all over it, the feel of the rhythm track, chord progressions, open dissonance of the guitar, dreamy way back feel.

Bloody fantastic is what it is James. You're hitting the sweet spot with this track.

I love it.

This one makes me think, James, really...

Ditto that. There's a moment at about 4:08 where the vocal expression is particularly fragile – in a good way.
