Hi Gang,

Here is a new recording, mainly done to knock some of the rust off my playing and recording skills.

It is a simple song with just two chords: G and Cadd9. Could not be easier to play.

It written by Roland S Howard and originally recorded in the 1980s by the Birthday Party (Nick Cave).

It was covered by an Aussie band: The Screaming Jets, in the 1990s. My cover is a blend of me, and the other two versions.

I hope you like it. It tried not to make it too Sunny but I may have failed :-)

It may be simple but it's very effective. Very nicely done Ian, great arrangement and really nice vocals. A good well-balanced mix as well, all round a very nice job. Sunny with a dark twist I would say.....

Some excellent work on this cover Ian. It sounds like you've knocked the rust off your recording skills quite well. Great vocals and playing. Everything on this works for me...well done!

I do like it. I like dark music and lyrics in general so I am good with this. Really flows nice and you have done a good production too, all instruments are balanced nicely. Nice!

I recorded the Boys Next Door version off of John Peel back in the day and it's always been a special song for me.

Your version is a bit more upbeat and I really enjoyed it

I forgot that I knew this song from back in the day! I really like your version, Ian - very nicely performed and everything sits well in the mix.
