Sounds good! I don´t know why but I hear some African-vibe there.

Hi Ella,

I just listened back and I get why you would say you can hear an African vibe.

I was pretty much experimenting with a few things on this and its mostly an uneditied first draft (as you can probably tell).

Key things I experimented with are:
  • Hudson Electronics Broadcast guitar pedal on the first guitar solo track - its a pre amp pedal and you can get some beautiful crunch and fuzz going on as you turn up the gain. I can hear Ron Wood (Faces era) when I use this pedal. If only I could play like him :-). I'm using the same pedal on the two rythm guitar tracks. There's probably a danger of too much of this but I'm not really taking things too seriously on this "song".
  • Electro Harmonix Canyon guitar pedal on the second guitar lead track in the middle - its a delay / looper pedal with a few trick built in. I'm using the Shimmer setting on this track
  • I have my Novation Bass Station Synth connected to my MicroKorg Synth and I'm using the arpeggiator and envelope settings from the Bass Station and the tones from the MicroKorg. Fun!!
  • I have imported drum midi from EZ Drummer into Studio One 4 and its driving one of the drum plug ins. Can't remember what it was. I just kept trying presets until one of them gave me a good beat to play with.
  • The Bass is standard, just going straight into Studio 4 via my interface and I crunched it up with a plug in.

cheers,

Ian

I have a couple days respite from work and came to the site for some inspiration. I think you provided it. I just need to turn the damn DAW on and noodle. I would be very happy with this. It has a cool vibe to it.

I can't recall what your guitar synth is. By the way, I have been super tempted by the Hudson Broadcast. I assume you are thrilled with it.

Hi Blooby,

Yes, very impressed with the Broadcast. It was magic from the first second. This was the pedal I was looking for when I bought the: Boss Blues Driver, The Fulltone Fluid-Drive 2, and a few others. It is gold in my opinion.

The guitar synth sound is the Electro Harmonix Canyon pedal. It is on the "Shimmer" setting.
