Did you change yours out?

I love the traditional Tele mini single coil (sometimes mistakenly called a lipstick pickup) with the silver cover.

This is the pickup that should be in the neck of a tele:

Anyways did you change your pickup out?

It's really not a hard job to solder a new pickup into your guitar, and if you don't want to do it yourself, surely there's someone you know who has the soldering skills already worked out, who can do you a favor, here in Canada I would not think of charging a buddy for two minutes of soldering, but I would insist he bring over some beers.

It's very minor to change out a pickup.  And it can do you so much good, and reinvigorate how much you enjoy your guitar.

I don't like humbuckers on tele bodies. It just feels wrong. If you want a humbucker, put it on an offset body where it belongs, like a jaguar or a starcaster.    I actually do like S/S/H configurations on Strats, but only if the Humbucker has a coil tap, so I can get my bridge back most of the way to single coil when I want it.

Humbuckers do one thing well.

Y'know... I was stranded in the USA for nearly 8 months because of the pandemic, and I thought about it a few times, but I never retrieved my Tele from Tucson to do this work. Another year, maybe. I'm back in Madagascar now with my Strat.
