NEXT; I want to release a tribute to Daniel Johnson, who passed away last week.

I used to do this song at open mikes last year and then it sort of slipped out of my repertoire; almost forgotten about until the tragic news hit.

This was also recorded on my BR-800, but it's much more bare-boned than the above CCR song...  I recorded it myself, but Hook helped me mix it down, normalize it then make a WAV and MP3 file from the Boss mix..   Please note:  My harmonica makes a little UN-harmonious screech going into the second line of the instrumental stanza.  You might wanna turn the sound down a tad or pull the plugs/headphones away for a quick second.   ::)   (I was going to do another take, but it kinda works for me as most of Daniels work was very lo-fi and unpolished...)

You, make a lot of movies in your mind
And you sure are impossibly unkind
And you got me by the skull this time, I'm scared
And I sure can't simply disappear.
   And I love you so-o-o,
   And I can't let go-o-o..

I, am nowhere to be seen, I'm out to lunch
And I don't want things to turn out wrong
So girl don't you turn and run
I'm just a psycho trying to write a song
And talk is cheap, I'm just a creep for your love..
   And I love you so-o-o,
   And I can't let go-o-o..

You, never were a zero 'till you died
And I never thought you existed until you cried
And you just can't prove a thing because you lied..
You, make a lot of movies in your mind
And you sure are impossibly unkind
And you got me by the skull this time, I'm scared
And I sure can't simply disappear...
   And I love you so-o-o,
   And I can't let go-o-o..
   And I love you so-o-o,
   And I can't let go-o-o..
   And I love......

Hope you enjoy!    !@014

I'm re-submitting my post from the Bad Moon.. thread here, so those that commented on the Daniel Johnson song will get their recognition:

Daniel Johnson's passing is indeed sad.  He was a pioneer (in a sense) to 'home recording' enthusiasts as he started out with only a cassette tape player to record with (a $59 Sanyo monaural boombox) into which he would record himself "singing and playing piano as well as the chord organ".   For more info, check out his Wikipedia page:  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daniel_Johnston

Quote from: Farrell Jackson on September 17, 2019, 10:04:28 AMThe...song by Daniel Johnson is new to my ears but I like it. As far as the harmonica screech, it didn't bother me at all. Those things happen when you're recording at home and just add to the listening experience.

Quote from: Mike_S on September 18, 2019, 02:31:09 PM...Gotta say I had never heard of Daniel Johnson...   ...a very good tune - you have an excellent voice Romidon and you have a little ace up your sleeve with the Harmonica!

Don't know Daniel Johnston but I enjoyed this a lot. Another great performance, I liked the harp playing here. Another string to your bow....

I'm not familiar with the original, but what a nice song this is! You voice sounds perfect with music like this, so well sung. Top class job with fine sounding guitar, too!

Enjoyable listening, Romidon!
