Ho-kay!  Let's try this:

Here's a song that I collaborated on with the fabulous Hook back at the end of August to record for the 'Woodstock' Festival.  We recorded 3 or 4 tracks on my new Boss BR-800 in a downtown park that was convenient for both of us.  It was a fun session, but unfortunately we didn't get the song finished due to both of us getting caught-up with family vacations and the sort.

We met again today and finished up the song.  I know that August is gone and done, but if possible, maybe this recording could be considered for the 'Woodstock' festival........  ::)  (If not, no problem.. )

Someone else covered a more obscure CCR song and one of the comments said something like, "Thank you for posting something other than 'Proud Mary' or 'Bad Moon Rising'..."    So sorry, but this is my version of BMR, and (imo) it IS a tad different from other renditions without straying too far from the heart of the original..  :)

The instruments used were; guitar, ukulele with myself on the main vocals and Hook doing the backups (and lead licks on the guitar and uke..AS WELL AS the bass runs using my guitar...).   :o

I see the bad moon a-rising
I see trouble on the way
I see earthquakes and lightning
I see bad times today
   Don't go around tonight
Well, it's bound to take your life
There's a bad moon on the rise

I hear hurricanes a-blowing
I know the end is coming soon
I fear rivers overflowing
I hear the voice of rage and ruin
   Don't go around tonight
Well, it's bound to take your life
There's a bad moon on the rise..     All right!

Hope you got your things together
Hope you are quite prepared to die
Looks like we're in for nasty weather
One eye is taken for an eye
   Don't go around tonight
Well, it's bound to take your life
There's a bad moon on the rise

   Don't go around tonight
Well, it's bound to take your life
There's a bad moon on the rise.

fin'.

Hope you enjoy!    !@014

Life is not about the number of Breathes you take, it is the amount of times your breathe is taken away

Cool versions of both songs! Bad Moon came out great with just enough variances to distance it from the original but not so far as to make it sound foreign. The other song by Daniel Johnson is new to my ears but I like it. As far as the harmonica screech, it didn't bother me at all. Those things happen when you're recording at home and just add to the listening experience. Well done Romidon and Hook!

Super version of Bad Moon Rising. I certainly never tire of hearing anything by the great CCR. It's a classic and rightly so. That was a great full hearted version - some super runs and licks going on on the use and guitar... awesome stuff. Gotta say I had never heard of Daniel Johnson... but the song certainly fits in with the spirit of the CCR track, so good call on that. Also a very good tune - you have an excellent voice Romidon and you have a little ace up your sleeve with the Harmonica!

Great stuff here brother. Your Daniel Johnson song really sounds great you got the levels right on well done.
As far as Bad Moon Rising, we met down at an Amphitheater in Tampa where all these young kids were smoking pot. Belt it out a couple of rehearsals and got this take. I added the base using the guitar to Bass feature on his br-800.

We got together again the second time at a park also in downtown Tampa. I added some background vocals and the little acoustic riffs and then I we mixed it down. This was really just a chance for need a help romidon learn how t o use this BR 800 and it was a lot of fun to do. I look forward to many more recordings with you brother. Rock on

two songs I didn't remember in Woodstock
Well played and well sung, well done, the recording is also very good (with only one microphone?)... and I thought there was a bass before rereading the introductory commentary

Congratulations to both of you.
I don't know half of you half as well as I should like, and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.

I don't like the song much which is why I've been hesitant to listen to it - but it was great, very well done.

Bravo!

Great version of the old chestnut for the Woodstock @ 50 Fest. Really zingy strings, great vocals and backing vox - a top-notch collaboration. Well done, Romidon & Hook!

My musical heart is more in line with the Daniel Johnston tribute - really well done, right down to the harmonica!

Bad Moon Rising has always been a favorite of mine and was the very first song I learned to play in toto on the electric guitar.  It was one of those 'damned rock and roll' songs that my parents hated and my rebellious teen soul would scream to the top of it's lungs when I lay listening to it with headphones on late at night.  My eyes would be closed as I imagined I was onstage before a crowd of thousands, playing air guitar as I thrashed about in my bed.  (I was a lonely youth...  :)  )

Anyway, what a shock (and excitement!) I experienced when I realized not only was CCR a PART of Woodstock, but they played my FAVE song there!!!  I knew that I wanted to do it for Songcrafters.

I can't express how appreciative I am that Hook took the time to get together with me (TWICE!!) to create this recording.  It's not perfect, but he showed me some of the things that my new recorder is capable of.  (I've still got a LOT to learn, but I'm very excited at the possibilities.  I don't want to 'cramp his style'; but I do hope that we might be able to continue to work together on future collaborations...)   ::)

Of course the Daniel Johnson song, Mind Movies, was NOT a part of Woodstock.  His passing is indeed sad.  He was a pioneer (in a sense) to 'home recording' enthusiasts as he started out with only a cassette tape player to record with (a $59 Sanyo monaural boombox) into which he would record himself "singing and playing piano as well as the chord organ".   For more info, check out his Wikipedia page:  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daniel_Johnston

(In retrospect I probably should have released it in a separate post since Daniel Johnson wasn't a part of Woodstock and another reason:  The song doesn't show up in my 'Personal Jukebox'..  :(   )

Thank you for taking the time to listen, Hilary.  I know BMR's probably been beaten like a dead horse, but like I said; it's always been one of my favorites..  :)

Hopefully 'Mind Movies' made the listen more worth your while.  ;)
