Here's a quick demo of a song that I hope to possibly improve and finish for BawdyFest.

I woke up very early this morning (still dark) after a dream, with the expression "Making the beast with two backs", which is a euphemism for sexual intercourse going back to Shakespeare and earlier, still on the tip of my tongue. As I sat on my bed in the dark, I tried to get something down on uke and quickly build a skeleton of a song. Once I had an inkling of where it should go, I recorded this on my iPhone in a single, drowsy take. I think the lyrics need more work. Still, I would be surprised if more than 15 minutes passed from waking until it was put together and recorded on my phone. And then I went back to sleep. :)

It was a very quiet recording (didn't want to wake anyone), so I normalized the audio and then added some echo in Audition to enhance the dream-like ambiance that gave it birth.

Thanks for listening.

I love singing in the dark and writing songs on the cuff this way.

It doesn't need anything else, it's just perfect as it is!

A nice little song - your voice is always a pleasure to hear. I think I should try that method to write a song, too. I wake up almost in every night, but never thought to take my guitar and recorder...

Looking forward to see, if you re-record this. It works nicely already now for a instant recording. Very calming....

You'd struggle to get this sort of ambience if you tried.

It's timeless, locationless, disembodied and fabulous. It should exist only as this, it's perfect.

Wow brother, what a great recording. I love the effect you( everyone) gets when your forced to be restrained in your performance. It creates an edginess naturally. This is great.
Rock on!

A song from start to finish in 15 minutes? I'm lucky if I can get one done in 15 years.....

Very clever way of turning a quick sketch into an effective dreamy song. Can't really hear the words but the subject matter is certainly rude enough   ;)

Brilliant . I often dream, wake up with songs in my head but forget them within seconds of waking. Great job in catching onto this one.

A great way to do a song... you have an idea.. forming it in the moment, and then get it the f**k down in that moment, can't be any more pure than that. A great song too.

Wonderful song! I can imagine that lonely moment in the night when you made this song. I get a Cohen-vibe, but I think you have much better voice.  :)
