Was messing around with open D tuning... this is the result... I had something in mind for the 1974 fest which uses open D which I will hopefully get around to doing too...

Got the rarely used Harley Benton LP out for this for a more gritty sound than the strat.

When I was a young man
With hope in every day
Something always held me back
And stood right in my way
But I don't mind

Thought I was getting closer
To getting off the floor
But every door that opened
Closed over like before
But I don't mind

Yeah I don't mind
I don't mind

One step at a time they said
That's what I was told
But one step forward two steps back
That's how I would go
But I don't mind

But as I waited years went past
And nothing seemed to change
But all my dreams and hopes I knew
I'd have to rearrange
But I don't mind

Yeah I don't mind
I don't mind

So now I've seen it all before
I know where I have been
These things that cannot be undone
Cannot be unseen
But I don't mind

Everything that happens us
Is part of who we are
And the ending of the journey really
Just doesn't seem so far
But I don't mind

Yeah I don't mind
I don't mind

Excellent lyrics and very nice guitar sound. I have played around with different tunings but never really got it together, this ticks all the boxes for me.   Willie

I love how the guitar creeps from left to right in the opening. For some reason, that really got my attention before meat of the song was served.

I like the guitar tone, it has nice contrast vs. your voice. Great performance and songwriting! This has a bit indie vibe from the 90's- from the era I like a lot.

Life is not about the number of Breathes you take, it is the amount of times your breathe is taken away

Hook

Bad ads guitar tone giving this an intense mood. I totally love this song brother, well done.

The HB Les Paul sounds nice and chunky, and the tremolo sounds great on it (tremolo seems to be one of my favorite guitar effects lately). The slide bits sound fab!

Nicely done, Mike.

Loving the guitar sound and the vibrato-y effect on this one. It really gives the whole track a great feel and creates a strong atmosphere. The vox are spot on and really complement the guitar work, overall this is a killer track. Nice work Mike!
