Here's the latest song collaboration from Lorne and I. It's called Oxy-moron. Just having had a complete knee placement 5 weeks ago and relying on Oxycodone to help ease the pain, is the inspiration for the lyric. There's currently a huge Opioid abuse crisis in the U.S. A lot stems from Doctor's over prescribing those lovely pills. I can see how one could get hooked but fortunately I'm done with them. I've used as many oxymoron-isms in the lyric as I could while still making a sensible story line. This is my small way of bringing some attention to the problem.

Credits: Lorne Reid - Guitar and drums. Farrell - All vocals and bass.
Oxy-Moron
(V1) I went to the doctor to get my next refill
He said I need to slow down on those lovely pills
I need some help to ease this pain
Don't need no rain on my dark parade
Another fine mess I've found myself in
It's the Oxy-moron tryin' to make sense again
(V2) Doc I need some help, to get me through the day
He said I might need, to get my head x-rayed
Then the room filled, with a deafening silence
Sir I don't mean to be, so cordially defiant
But there's a love hate, developing within
It's the Oxy-moron tryin' to make sense again
(short solo)
(V3) Doc I need some sunshine, on this dreary day. He said that's a serious joking display
You need to listen to me, I'm clearly confused. How many of those pills, have you abused?
It's a bittersweet situation I found myself in. I've dug another hole and it's caving back in
Staring at the wall, wondering how it all began. It's the Oxy-moron making sense again
(solo)
(V4) Tryin' to act naturally, keeping it together
I think it's a definite maybe, there's a change in the weather
A farewell reception, I seem to be growing smaller
This can't be my only choice, I should be standing taller
This somehow seems, strangely normal my friend
It's the Oxy-moron tryin' to make sense......again

Life is not about the number of Breathes you take, it is the amount of times your breathe is taken away

I can't believe that I've listened to this on more that one occasion and I haven't commented.

It's a great song. Well constructed, well played, beautifully produced. Nice one guys. very professional.

Great subject for a song, it's a major issue in the US and starting to affect us over here. Very clever title and the lyrics work well.

There's a lot to love about this, especially the way it builds and gradually emphasises that catchy riff. I particularly liked the backwards guitar work at around 1:14 but the overall production, playing and vox are all great. Very nice song indeed.
