I listenened to it a couple of times today. It really grows on me. It's very well strung together, well performed and well produced. Great work!

Almost missed this one, great job anyway!

Very versatile you are bb!

Great job, nice guitarwork!
If you loose track over a chord progression, play as fast as you possibly can. Nobody will know. Thats how they invented bebop.

Great performance and production. Killer track, BB, and sorry it took a while to listen to it. I'm having trouble just keeping up with the micro songs. I love the shift from folk to hard-rocking blues. Incredible lead work.

This reminds me - kind of - of 'WOLD' by Harry Chapin in the way it goes through different feels and sections.

More synth!  I love it!  I see now that the synth sounds were done on the Kaossilator.  I really need to get one.  The comparisons to Led Zeppelin are true with the acoustic guitar.  Just a well-done and very cool and original tune.  The Kaoss effects really make it stand out, although it would be great without them too.  Then the drums come in and it turns into solid blues-rock.  Still with a Zeppelin feel to it.  Then after the solo, it gets a little Grateful Dead-ish.  Nice boogie.

SWEET!!! ;D

I'm glad I dipped into the 1200 section. Very inspirational. I personally loved the acoustic work. I can't imagine ever playing that well. When the electric kicked in I was elated. That was a terrific piece BB.

Quote from: Kody on May 17, 2009, 08:24:44 PMBB!!!!!!!! Wow....sounds like yer getttin' the 1200 figured out!!  The guitars in this remind me of that Led Zepplin tune, "Hey Lady....you got the love I need...." Can't remember what that one's titled LOL!!

Truly inspiring!!!Great work of art, BB!  Good stuff!!

It sounds a bit like the begining of "over the hills and far away"  from the "houses of holy" LZ...  love the composition and overall sound of the whole song - the change on the guitar is excellent!  To the library to listen on it via my stereo...

BB - 2nd song of yours I listened to, and this is where it starts to get annoying. Didn't I read that you've only been playing guitar for 3 years? And that you've only had your 1200 for a couple a months? And yet you're coming across like you were born playing guitar, and have just finsished a College course in studio production! I'm STILL struggling to get these type of results. The one definite advantage you have which can't really be learnt (Well it can, but it mostly sounds phoney), is that you have the natural accent for these type of songs. Again, as with your other song from the 1200 thread, nothing wrong with the playing, and in fact as there is less instrumentation on this the voice isn't fighting a battle - though I would keep in mind the electronic vocal tips we discussed. What I would do however, is stand back a little, and just listen to the second part of the song. After that blistering lead, there is something missing from the 2nd part, and what I suspect it is, is some of those lead licks from the solo played again behind the acoustic & vocal, plenty of reverb added to the licks to give a sense of distance. No group having put that solo together would waste an opportunity to showcase some of it again. And it also gives the song a sense of momentum toward the end. Though I wouldn't take it right upto the end, I would leave that to the Acoustic and Vocal. It's a very competent effort, BB. And after listening to Pinedog and Yourself in the 1200 thread, I'm going to have more sleepless nights than ever trying to come up with anything I feel I can upload. Wonderful stuff.

Thank you very much Diego and Steve.  Comments like this make me feel good, like I am really getting somewhere, its what keeps me going on to the next song I find.  Steve, really great advice there about continuing the solo line into the end part, I like that idea.  The end does seem a little flat to me too.  I toyed with taking the last verse up to the next key, but I like your idea better, good dynamic suggestion.  I may have only been playing for three years, but I took it very seriously and play everyday (I am fanatical about getting playing time in - I have a guitar in a stand in my dining room, just so I can grab it whenever I walk by and get in 5 minutes), so it is like a guy who plays once or twice a week for 10 years  :D.  I am making up for all those wasted years of not playing, I am 44 after all, no time to waste!  I didn't realize how important music was to me until I picked up that cheap acoustic 3 years ago, It was one of those life-changing moments for sure.
