Winter Fest...

Did this pretty quickly for a couple of reasons... I don't have much time to do any music these days so have to try and be quicker when i get the chance, but also trying to capture a bit more "spirit / soul" rather than labour over it and maybe start losing some of the essence of it... anyway...

Waiting for the Sun to Shine Down

The winters been a knockin'
Knockin' at my door

It's found its own way in
Right to my, my very core

And I can't quite remember
The sunlight upon my skin

There's nothing more I can do now

I'm still waiting...
I'm here waiting...
Waiting for the sun to shine down

————————————

Everything feels wrong to me,
Even if it's all ok

Somehow I always find a way
To block out all the light

If I could start to live in hope
I'd come alive again

If only I could just believe now

I'm still waiting...
I'm here waiting...
Waiting for the sun to shine down

————————————

If I could start to live in hope
I'd come alive again

If only I could just believe now

I'm still waiting...
I'm here waiting...

Great entry to the fest. Excellent job on each way; well written and performed. Loved the lead guitar additons, too and to my ear this has a warm live feeling - that's a good thing.

Enjoyable piece of music, I'm on my second listening....

A real killer of a song Mike! This is good my friend. I think your "hurry up and record before I lose the vibe" approach worked well here. I can hear the real emotion in your vocals and guitar and that's a good thing! If you can get this kind of result, I agree, there's no need obsessing over every little detail....just do it.  Keep up the good work!

Cool song (no pun intended) - I really like the immediacy of just getting it recorded before you lose the vibe. I know the feeling of stretching out a production too far as well. Anyway, you got some really nice tones (and style) on your guitars, and your lyrics sum up how I've felt about this odd winter so far - nice work!

Ah yes, this is great.  I know what you mean about not having any time.  You turned out a really strong song. This song definitely has soul.

Very cool song. I like that easygoing feeling and vocals are great! Winters been knocking at my door too. There was -27 Celsius couple of days ago.   :o

Cracking vocal and loving the guitar, with a excellent song too. Think we could be on the same page if you're up for a collab.

I'm amazed by this Mike, love it!! Has a swing that is so infectious. Great songwriting, excellent composition and playing - Vocals are frickin' sweet too! The back end was put together very well too, drums and bass sounded real and organic.

Just one of those awesome tunes you could listen to all day long!
