This one started as a riff on my Jasmine acoustic, the Jasmine never reached the recording process as i had my HB tele out it's bag when i hit the record button. Drums took a few days to create in Garageband, then another day recording guitars and vocals, finished off today with bass and juno di.
anyway it is what it is.

You can build a wall between us
If that's what you want to do
You can blind us to distraction
As we try to work out what's fake what's true
And you play that age old game
Of divide and rule
And you win
And we lose

There's a sucker born every minute
And you can play their tune
Yeah we dance to your reel
You just pull us on in
Yeah we go for the bait
Hook sinker and line
And you win
And we lose

History repeats itself
We make the same mistakes
You know what's round the corner
Cos you've seen it all before
The rich keep getting richer
And the poor just get poorer
And you win
And we lose

Will we ever break the cycle
Will we ever make things change
Or just keep banging our heads on a brick wall
Again and again and again
A recurring nightmare
That always ends the same way
Where you win
And we lose

History repeats itself
We make the same mistakes
You know what's round the corner
Cos you've seen it all before
The rich keep getting richer
And the poor just get poorer
And you win
And we lose
And You Win

Cool song, nicely produced. It's a keeper brother. I love the way you say, "the poor just poorer"

I thought I had already commented, but...anyway, this one is a great song, and as Hook says, it's produced very, very VERY well...

That bass line really caught me...and the bridge...and the vocals...and the lyrics.

You could probably say this about any era, but this seems especially timely. I guess that makes it timeless.

I miss this.
