Some quotes from Brian Jones anniversary topic by Cuthbert
64guitars:
QuoteYep. The sixties was my favourite Stones decade too.
Cuthbert
QuoteIn my opinion, his musical contributions (Brian Jones)helped make the Sixties (in my mind, anyway), the greatest musical decade for the Rolling Stones.
Cuthbert
I found out who the multi-instrumentalist of the band was (Brian), and how his musical contributions helped turn a blues band (in addition to second-lead guitarist, Brian was also their primary slide guitar player, and a mean harp player as well) into one that dove deeply into the psychedelic rock movement of the time.
A few examples:
Paint It Black? Sitar by Brian Jones.
Lady Jane? Appalachian dulcimer and harpsichord by Brian Jones.
Ruby Tuesday? Recorder and piano played by Brian Jones.
2000 Light Years From Home, We Love You, She's A Rainbow? (and I'm sure I missed several others) Mellotron played by Brian Jones.

and I am myself a modestly multi-instrumentalist and I have always preferred to play badly on all possible instruments than on one.

The list of my toys is long (but not enough)
Guitars (classical nylon,,electric,,folk, weissenborn, dobro, bass) Yukulele,, 5 string banjo, church harmonium, piano, harmonica, melodica, wisthles, mandolin, violin, charango, drums, rain stick, kazoo, :)

...and as I have in a corner of my music studio, a dulcimer that I re-corded, I wanted to do this Lady Jane cover in which Brian Jones plays the dulcimer

In memory of Robbie(Facemask) I left the little sentence  (...thank you Alex!) and the first notes of her exceptional cover of Lady Jane

Dulcimer, 12 strings guitar and acoustic bass

Thank you for listening guys and I wish you lots of champagne and good wines for the end of the year
I don't know half of you half as well as I should like, and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.

While I've heard the song before, I'm really not that familiar with it. But I think you've done an excellent job with it. I think the dulcimer is played well and sounds great. You hit this one on the head.

Very good. This captures the feel of the original very well. The dulcimer is a nice touch.

I missed this one! Nice touch on the dulcimer (I have one of these crazy machines myself), and a very nice tribute to Robbie.
