Incredibly, there was a gathering of the five, a collaborative virtual meeting, the hiatus was momentarily suspended.

Scandinavian giants appeared out of the late autumn mists carrying strange objects fashioned from wood bearing markings from a long forgotten past, a recluse was spotted toasting his toes by an open fire, a road warrior wielding a strange black and white club strode purposefully across the northern moorlands and in darkest Caledonia, where none but the natives dare to tread, a lone voice was heard, plaintive, distant uttering 'Get' (followed by the word 'get' slightly panned to the right, about an eighth of a bar later, and another panned to the left after another quarter of a bar).

They met in the middle; at a place that cannot be seen or felt, without physicality, and exchanged greetings. They left in that place a series of magical numbers, built from only 1's and 0's, that took no form by themselves, but when brought together by the universe they caused such a terrible cacophony, so terrible that time itself was momentarily suspended.

This is that cacophony, stretched across that gap between the stopping and starting of time.

Cast:

  • Viking#1  - Jarle Alfsen - rhythmic beating
  • Viking#2 - Geir Alfsen - Growling stick, Screaming stick and Growling
  • Toe Toaster - Tim Green - Stabby stick, Growling stick
  • Caledonian ranting man - James Higgins - Ranting and howling
  • The Underpinner - Mike Fife - Deep Growling Stick, beater of captive strings, rider of uncontrollable golden screaming Hydra, howling

No animals were harmed or even subjected to mild alarm during this exercise, though a pug became very pissed off at being dressed as Santa's Little Helper.

So glad I caught this on my way to my gig this morning. Totally rocktastic production, some killer screaming and stabby stick shit going on not to mention all that growling. Love it all and love that I get to hear you primative visionaries rocking out.
