I guess it doesn't get any more personal than this but I do feel I need to share it with my song crafter friends.
I've been out the loop here recently because myself and my family had been looking after my mother who had terminal cancer.
She passed away and today we said goodbye.
I had woken up one morning at 4 am just after she passed and wrote a poem that has now turned into this song.
I sat at the piano and this came out.
I added a few strings but it's pretty much all straight from the heart.
My mum was from an area in Glasgow called Govan...hence the title.
Rest in peace mum.
