Balthazar - a sort of Christmas piece by Chapperz

Well - sort of...the intention was to make it a sort of Cecil B Demille theme but it didn't turn out quite as festive as I intended.

In case you are thinking I am very "quick off the blocks" with this one, I have to admit that I actually started it for last year's fest and finished it a week or so ago.  Typical of my usual glacial speed of production.

Various hardware and soft synths. Drums based on an "Anything but sticks" collection from Presonus, liberally added to with various free sound effect samples that I found on line somewhere.  All mixed and mastered in Studio One 3 Pro.

I am quite pleased with the sampled desert Oud.

Brilliant as expected!

Nice mix of proggy and oriental music and Presonus drums are amazing! The melody 1:10> hits the target perfectly!

Loved this one Paul, so many twists and turns and hidden depths. Very, very cool indeed, definitely got that middle eastern vibe going on there. The different synths and percussion all sound great and the production pulls everything together well. A really great track to have looping in the background (which I have done for at least 20 minutes!).

I can almost see the desert sands, so I'm definitely getting some of that 50s Biblical soundtrack vibe as I listen. Lots of interesting twists and turns that hold your attention through the piece.
