Oh, Sweet Nuthin' by The Velvet Underground

Say a word for Jimmy Brown
He ain't got nothing at all
Not a shirt right of his back
He ain't got nothing at all
And say a word for Ginger Brown
Walks with his head down to the ground
Took the shoes right of his feet
To poor boy right out in the street
And this is what he said

Oh sweet nuthin'
She ain't got nothing at all
Oh sweet nuthin'
She ain't got nothing at all

Say a word for Polly May
She can't tell the night from the day
They threw her out in the street
But just like a cat she landed on her feet
And say a word for Joanna Love
She ain't got nothing at all
Cause everyday she falls in love
And every night she falls when she does

Oh sweet nuthin'
You know she ain't got nothing at all
Oh sweet nuthin'
She ain't got nothing at all

Say a word for Jimmy Brown
He ain't got nothing at all
Not a shirt right of his back
He ain't got nothing at all
And say a word for Ginger Brown
Walks with his head down to the ground
Took the shoes right of his feet
To poor boy right out in the street
And this is what he said

Oh sweet nuthin'
She ain't got nothing at all
Oh sweet nuthin'
She ain't got nothing at all

I love the space in this song. The guitars sound good. The vocal is strong and I especially like those backing vox on the chorus. This recording sounds really good. None of our live recordings sounded anywhere this good.

me either... I listened on YT to the original version by Velvet, yours is much better ;)
I don't know half of you half as well as I should like, and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.

You guys have a captured a very spacious atmosphere in this LITLR recording. I like the openness of the music that has left a lot of room for the Lurker's fine vocals and the harmony to come through easily. Some cool Southern Rock style lead guitar solos as well. What amps and reverbs are you using? They sound mighty fine. Nice work by all!

We're all going direct, including an e-drum kit. Both guitars are through older Line 6 XT Live units. I think we both tend to favor Vox or Fender settings. I stick with hall or plate reverbs. I sometimes add some more in the box, especially on some solos (don't think I did much here, though).

Thanks for listening.
