Here's another song from the album Lorne and I are working on. I've re-purposed some some lyric that I wrote a while back but could never find a good setting for them. Lorne presented this music and the lyric to Mt. Everest jumped out at me. Credits: Lorne Reid has all the music duties here and I'm doing the vocals
Mount Everest

(V1) He's been invited
To join a mighty quest
Not a journey for the tired
With little time to rest
There's a mountain
To be climbed
Not for the timid
Or the weak of mind

(V2) It's said the altitude
Will take away your sense
Not room for one mistake
At other bloke's expense
The Sherpas are getting ready
As the climbers take a rest
They look toward the heavens
At the mighty Mt. Everest

(Chr) The Mighty Mt. Everest (3xs)

(V3) On this frozen peak
It's agility and health
Every one is equal
No thoughts of commonwealth
If he stays focused
With a solid grasp
His footing will be sure
Precise and steadfast

(Brdg/Chr) (ooo's & aaa's) The Mighty Mt. Everest (4xs) (solo)

(V4) It's on and upward
Leary of a plummet
With just one final thrust
He might make the summit
He feels exhilarated
To conquer with the best
And sits atop the world
On the mighty Mt. Everest

(Chr) The Mighty Mt. Everest (3xs)
(outro) oooos Mt Everest, aaaas Mt. Everest

Stunning - lovely proggy feel, great playing and fab vocal.

There's some brilliant stuff going on here at the moment, this is right up there.
We are here on Earth to fart around. Don't let anybody tell you any different

I noticed that my toe is tapping on the floor. Killer riffs and really "angry" guitar solo!

Your voice is always a pleasure to hear - like on this. You and Lorne - what a dynamic duo!!

madrab

a kicker with a good riff!
If anything I would let the solo shine more and mix it up (or other guitar down during solo). I like it and want hear it more.

(I had to go check my old climbing books after the listen..)

TPB

Driving rhythm, good lyrics and excellent singing does not need anything else Well done

Life is not about the number of Breathes you take, it is the amount of times your breathe is taken away

another amazing collab! I´m still awestruck. It is a wonderful thing that people can make music that gives you so many kind of feelings and can make you so happy.

Ferryman_1957

Brilliant stuff! Right up my alley. Love the riff and clever song structure, the arrangement and production is great (although I agree with Madrab, maybe the solo could be a bit more prominent). The vox are superbly done, thye fit so nicely in the mix, and the backing oohs and aahs are great as well - did you do them?

All round an absolute belter of a song!

Listened to this on the 'latest Jukebox' at work the other day - didn't have time to comment. My first thought was wow, this guy can play and what a great sound. Quality tune sonf recording Farrell. Love it.

Great stuff in here. Loving the main riff. Starts like a heavy surf song and the veers off in several directions. Cool listen. Was the bass done on a 5-string or is that just a heap o' low end?
