Hi all!

I wrote "a piece of (smooth) jazz" and sent the track to Farrell for lyric/vocals. Then it turned more to bluesy jazz and I must say it works. This song took a huge leap to forward after lyric and vocal by Farrell. Thanks a lot!

I'd be lost without you and other collaborators of the site  :) . Thanks for listening.

Lyrics by Farrell Jackson
Music by Kari
two tracks of La Mancha Perla Negra classical guitar
Lead guitar on Fender Telecaster
ThumbJam upright bass
Piano additions - Yamaha P-45 digital piano
The drums were played on Yamaha keyborad by fingers (brush kit)
Recorded and mastered on BR-80, trimmed on Audacity

Alone with The Blues

(V1) A feeling of numbness, I can't seem to shake
Something's been lost, it can't be replaced
Gone in an instant, I don't understand
How this happened, in such a short span

The last time we talked, all seemed right
I remember it being, a warm Friday night
Sunday's call, left me stone cold sober
Everything's changed, now it's over

(Chr) Alone with the blues, hello old friend
Just you and a bottle of gin
Alone with the blues, hello old friend
Just me and you, once again

(V2) Nothing I say or do, will change a thing
I can't help but wonder, will it ever be the same
Questions will haunt me, from this day on
I'd do anything, to bring you back home

Tanqueray in my glass, ice melting in the dark
Your memory is here but you are not
Surrounded by frustration, a picture with no frame
One more conversation might place the blame

(Chr) Alone with the blues, hello old friend
Just you and a bottle of gin
Alone with the blues, hello old friend
Just me and you, once again

(solo)

(V1) A feeling of numbness, I can't seem to shake
Something's been lost, it can't be replaced
Gone in an instant, I don't understand
How this happened, in such a short span

(Chr) Alone with the blues, hello old friend
Just you and a bottle of gin
Alone with the blues, hello old friend
Alone with the blues.........

Just what I needed with my morning coffee, easy does it Saturday morning.

Love it guys, I have to say the same thing John said, that when I saw your two names, I knew it was going to be a high quality piece.

Always love your vocals Farrell, and Kari, what can I say... been listening to your amazing creations for years.

Oh yes, just listening here on my headphones with a nice cool can of beer. This has a great bluesy / jazzy feel, but there is also just a touch of something i can't put my finger on... a little strangeness or something... it just sets it apart and makes it very cool indeed. Well done to both.
