Blue Monday is a song written by Dave Bartholomew, and first performed by Smiley Lewis in 1954.

It was popularized by a 1956 recording by Fats Domino,
The version by Fats Domino appears in the 1956 film La Blonde et moi. It became one of the first rhythm and blues songs to appear in the Billboard magazine rankings.
Buddy Holly was one of the first to perform this song, as was Cat Stevens.
