I wrote this one a few days ago for punkfest. But had no time to record it. First day off in ages and she who must be obeyed had me creosoting shed and fence all day, so am very tender, got sunburnt.
anyway this was written on my jasmine acoustic. intention was to include the acoustic but whilst trying to zone in my 17 year old former self my own personal Rikki Nadir (Ferryman will understand) i forgot how to work my BR800. i had four guitar tracks including two acoustic tracks but i musta pressed a wrang yin and all tracks where lost. so was back to drawing board.

anyway it is what it is.

I don't care what you think
So keep your opinion
Save it for the newsprint
I use to wipe my arse
Cos come the revolution
We won't have your pollution
Cos we have a solution
And it's called anarchy
Anarchy is coming
It'll be here soon
Anarchy for everyone
For me and for you
Freedom to do what you want
Think for yourself
Freedom from poverty
Freedom from wealth
No one tells you what to do
Just think about that
Your own responsibility
Can you handle it
Cos come the revolution
It's all up to you
Total fucking freedom
And it's called anarchy
Anarchy is coming
It'll be here soon
Anarchy for everyone
For me and for you
Freedom to do what you want
Think for yourself
Freedom from poverty
Freedom from wealth
Anarchy............

Good opener for the fest! At first, I thought this was recorded with your acoustic guitar and some fuzz was added to it - but I saw after reading further that you recreated it with your electrics. There's some good snarl in there, and sounds like some flexing of your guitar skills. Everything sounds nice and tight.

One other aside, on my first listen, I thought the line "we won't have your pollution" was "we won't have your fucking shed" - maybe time I get my hearing checked!  ;D

ORH: Love the guitar tone — jangly and aggressive at the same time. And I like how your take on anarchy is more social anarchism (anti-hierarchy, social justice), than anarchy as it commonly understood (i.e. chaos, no government).

That works better. Because your shed is possessive, a symbol of social inequality, private property, locked away, and withheld from service to the common good. That's anarchy.

Great fun Jim, I really liked this. It's a great sound, and it does have a hint of Rikki Nadir about it (no getting away from the vocal comparison....). The guitars sound great but the thing I liked the most in the music was the bass. It's got a good growly, clunky sound that really propels the song along. The lyrics are just what you want to hear in a great punk song, and of course it resonates with Anarchy in the UK.

I'm glad you had to redo this because the overall sound has a nice raw edge to it but it doesn't sound in anyway thrown together. And the thought of acoustic guitars in a punk song makes me slightly concerned...... ;) Although I guess The Levellers got away with it.

And, as those social commentators Monty Python pointed out, sheds can represent the hoarding of wealth, as some people (namely Arthur Jackson), go as far as having two sheds.

Cool song,I was expecting the vocal to be angrier though and shouty as the music is pumping.
The lyrics are angry, the music is fierce ,the vocal as usual is great but seems to be calm in its aproach, gees a bit of do anything you want to do type aproach. ..ala .Eddie and the hot rod's .
Great song though mate,cool playing.
