Walking Wounded

There's too much anti-matter in the universe
That perforates our lives
Dangling the bait in murky waters
Waiting for a bite

Walking wounded
Walking wounded
Patch us up and carry on

Walking wounded
Walking wounded
Holy empires turn to dust but love stands strong

All the bandaged people they don't know which to go
Like an army marching home
And love's the only medicine to take in their defeat
And turn the people on

We sit and stir the cosmos in our teacups
In a café in the rain
The last resort that's closed up for the winter
And I need your sun again

Walking wounded
Walking wounded
Patch us up and carry on

Walking wounded
Walking wounded
Holy empires turn to dust but love stands strong

All the bandaged people they don't know which to go
Like an army marching home
And love's the only medicine to take in their defeat
And turn the people on

Walking wounded
Walking wounded
Patch us up and carry on

Nice one Tim! An excellent and unique chord progression. I really like when the back ground lead guitar comes in at the second half of the chorus...it gives the impression of a harmony vocal, cool. Well done.

Another winner, Tim!

Great job all around. Especially, I liked the organ and synth on the backer! They put a nice flavor to this!

The "second" chorus is just brilliant - it has some Beatles vibe.

Another beauty Tim.
All the things mentioned already are great, and I have to add the fact that you write some great lyrics in your songs.

Great work Tim. I really like what you're doing with the drums and keys from GarageBand, your tracks have an even more polished feel now. This is a fab track, I love the chord sequence in the verse and also the way you lift it up at the end of the chorus rather than take the lazy way out and repeat the earlier sequence. Nice little guitar solo in the middle and of course excellent lyrics. Very well balanced production as well, a real treat to listen to. Well done!

I now have a vision of the subject of your song sat in a cafe next to Willie's "Should Have Waited" guy.

Excellent song, lyrics and production, lovely tone on the lead guitar. Ticks all the boxes for me.   Willie
