A nonsense song written over Easter 2018  by two of our Grand Children, Lucy 7, Owen 5 and myself. I asked them to throw up ideas and between their ideas and a few embellishments from myself we ended up with this song. A splendid time was had by all.

Pete the Pirate,
He doesn't like goats
Pete the Pirate , he's got a big boat
Pete says he doesn't like girls,
especially girls with curls and pearls
Pete the Pirate

Pete the Pirate, has a patch on one eye
He loves to eat steak and kidney pie
He's always looking for treasure and stuff
He's very greedy and he cant get enough
Pete the Pirate

Pete the Pirate, has a wooden peg
He made it from an old chair leg
It makes a noise when he walks along
Singing one of his grumpy songs
Pete the Pirate

But Pete knows he could have been a painter
Or carved a career in a merchant bank
But deep down he knows the pleasure
Of making people walk the plank
Pete the Pirate

Pete the Pirate, he loves to eat fish
He always has a great big dish
He likes Haddock,Plaice and Cod
And often shares it with his dog
Pete the Pirate

Pete the Pirate has a parrot called Fred
He likes to nibble on old stale bread
Drops his crumbs everywhere
And doesn't even seem to care
Pete the Pirate

I like the strumming rhythm. This is just fun to listen to. Lucy and Owen did a fine job.

Great fun, although I'm disappointed that Lucy and Owen didn't join in with some "ah-hars" or something like that. It must have been a great pleasure to do something like this with the grandkids. And I bet I can guess who came up with the line about merchant bankers...." ;)

Thanks for the kind comments. Yes, this was great fun. Lucy was supposed to be singing it but when it came to the time she was too shy to do it so I had to fill in. I did try and get them to add a few piratey sounds but to no avail. I'm working on a part two so hopefully, I can persuade them next time. Thanks again for listening. :)

Hook

That's good fun.
Rock on!

Listened to this earlier and I liked it. Now, this sounds even more catchy song for children!

I hope you can encourage Lucy ans Owen to sing along on next mix.

Reminds me of McCartney solo tunes. I like it!
