it is a song of Sacha Distel singer French guitarist, died in 2004

brilliant guitarist, with the voice of crooner Sacha Distel had started as a guitarist in the orchestra of Ray Ventura (...his uncle)
He met Charlie Parker and Miles Davis on a trip to the United States in 1952.
His talents earned him the title of best jazz guitarist several times in France in the 1950s. He recorded the album "French New Sound" with Lionel Hampton and accompanied Juliette Gréco and Sarah Vaughan.

This song "my first guitar" was played on stage with Stephane Grapelly (the famous violinist associated with Django Reinhart)

My friend Jean Paul sings the first verse and " fait la pompe" ( what is the traduction in english,  makes the pump??" with his gypsy jazz guitar (guitar jazz manouche Maurice Dupont, french luthier)
I do the second verse and the guitar solo with my Epiphone Les Paul

I was fifteen years old, It was the time of my first guitar,
And all this time comes back often from the bottom of my memory.
Those fifteen years It was Django Who put them in party.
At that time it was Django that was in the head.
In his music, there was a smell of firewood,
There was a je-ne-sais-quoi, half Harlem, half bohemian.
And on all that passed, happy, wonderful clouds,
Like those in the eyes of the children of the journey.

Since that time, I had time to change the guitar,
And the gypsy of my fifteen years is there in my memory.
And, many times, It's in spite of me, It comes to me some notes
Like a chorus Come suddenly From the bottom of a trailer.
Then I feel under my fingers rising the smell of the fire,
I hear like a half-hearted half Harlem Bohemian.
And on my heart pass, happy, these wonderful clouds
Like those in the eyes The gipsy child
I don't know half of you half as well as I should like, and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.

Really good, I did not realise Sasha Distel was an accomplished guitarist. I thought he was only a singer. Very interesting.

Very well done guys this is timeless. Excellent!
