Here's another song that wouldn't have come about if I hadn't broken my ankle back in January (it's nearly all mended now by the way, I've been discharged by the medical authorities).

I imagine the word 'dark' may come to mind when you listen (and thank you for doing so if you do).  I may have exaggerated for theatrical effect here and there.

This is all within GarageBand.  No ukes were bothered in its making.  Or guitars come to that, although I managed to reach one of my guitars (they're at the back of the toy overflow room and wholly inaccessible to someone with mobility issues) and got to play for the first time since January.  God it seemed huge after playing the uke for so long.  And why so many strings?

Spooky! The spoken-word lyrics work perfectly with the slightly off-kilter music and soundscape.

Hope the healing is coming along nicely.

Hysterical! Glad to see that the drugs are taking effect...... What a great way to spend some downtime. Love the breakdown at about 2:15 and the weirdness that follows.

Very imaginative, it sounds like a lost track from Peter Wyngarde's solo album (Google that if you dare....)  ;D

Yes mad, but I love it, lots of cool stuff going on!!!

Brilliant lyrics and possibly a true reflection of an NHS with problems. Don't you just love GarageBand, excellent post.   Willie

Vincent Price narrating an alternate version of "Comfortably Numb?" No, not that. A cut hospital scene from Terry Gilliam's "Brazil," scored by Danny Elfman? No, not that either.

An unsettling sparse arrangement. And the most unsettling thing of all is the narrative that we are left to imagine after the vocals have stopped. Personally, I imagined someone on a gurney being pushed lazily through a crowded, dingy hospital. The bored orderly looks at a clock on the wall and sees it's 11:55 – almost lunchtime. Saying nothing, he turns and walks away from the gurney, leaving it crooked in the hallway. The gurney slowly rolls to a stop as the patient's plastered foot bumps against the wall. Distracted people push by through slightly annoyed by the object blocking the hall; ambulatory patients, hospital staff, visitors, cleaning staff.
