GearFest (banner image missing)

Just recently started a new job so have had little or no time to play , write or record. Had an idea for a tune for the gearfest about my new Harley Benton Tele, had a lyric written but was struggling with time to record and even remember how i was going to accompany the lyric.

then out of the blue Kenneth sent me a tune that he had considered binning. the guy is far too hard on himself.

So i transferred the tune to my br800 and started singing the words i had written for my own tune, quite quickly realising it was my tune that should be binned and not Kenneth's.

anyway enough of my verbage, Kenneth is a genius, end of.

The song?

it is what it is.

I really love my new guitar
I really love my new guitar
It feels so good to hold it
But I need to learn to play
And I really have to try and practice
Spend some time with it each day
I really love my new guitar
I really love my new guitar
So many note to choose from
So many chords to find
I'll find my way around it
Given time given time
I really love my new guitar
I really love my new guitar
Just plug it in and play it
Tune the strings and off you go
Find some chords and singalong
Before too long you'll have a song
I really love my new guitar
I really love my new guitar
Heaven knows what you'll come up with
That's what makes it so much fun
Surprise yourself impress your friends
And then start all over again
I really love my new guitar
I really love my new guitar
You can never have enough guitars
Everyone should have a new guitar

Loving this one guys. Had it looping and it's got a kind of dreamy feel to it as it just flows all over you. Great production from Kenneth and loving all the pads and keyboards. It's maybe calling out for some nice additional guitar work from an HB Telecaster....... There's an opportunity for you Jim!

I enjoyed the lyrics, great fun. However, as one of the least technical musicians on here I must point out that strictly speaking there aren't actually that many notes on the guitar..... It's largely the same ones in lots of different places  ;)

Your thread on the HB Tele inspired me to look at HB guitars and I actually ended up buying one. Had never heard of them before.

Brilliant guys! I listened to this in the nightshift and I liked it. Now, this sounds even better!

Great backer, Ken! A lots of great sounding details and top class composition!
