Well its time to put my first offering forword,i think it needs a lot of work to make it sound better. it's just two tracks bounced - two guitars with vocal and a backing vocal, need all the help we can get re - where to pan things in the mix---and generally how to improve the sound===many thanks

The sound is amazing and the song was well done; bravo...

I listened using my computer speakers so this may not be accurate advice, but the panning could use some tweaking. As you dont have a drum track, i like to think that the guitars should be a little more centered. Perhaps the main guitar at or near center and the other guitar just ever so slightly left or right. The vocals seem to be completely left and right (or close.) I suggest centering them as well with the backing vocal just slightly left or right.

It just depends though. For a more live sound, what you have is pretty darn close as it gives me the impression that there are 2 guys playing and singing on stage. Here's a great resource for you:    http://www.tweakheadz.com   click on the Guide and look to the left column for an article on panning for starters. Actually, here it is: http://www.tweakheadz.com/pan_control.htm

Soundwise, you seemed to capture the vocals and guitar very well. Was that all using the built-in mic? Folks here would love to know!

You did a great job putting this together. Very clean sounding - I thought the mix sounded fine!

See you around,

Yes, great folk voice and nice harmonizing. This is a very strong rendition of this song, you've got a lot of potential. Geat recording - the vox are great and the guitars clean.

My own mix preference would be to put the vocals inside the guitars. with the guitars panned quite wide L & R and then the vocals at about 20-25 L & R. But try a few variations and see what you like best - that's the great thing about this box!

Cheers,

Nigel

I Love this!!!!!!!!

I Love Folk!

Absolutely Love this!!!!!!!!!

The panning gives the effect as if I am Listening to a Celtic band at a pub (Guitarist on one side of the room and the singers on the other! I Like it......

But I agree with G... This would sound Extra great with some central panning!

I Love this!!!!!

Excellent first post!
