How to ameliorate an electric lap steel guitar

I really do not regret my purchase of this Thoman Harley Benton Slider II Vintage series

This is a really low cost low price 79 Euros, (it comes with a soft cover, a cord jack, a tone bar in a box, and a key to adjust the jumpers)! and despite a single coil pickup, the sound you get if you improve it with a software effect such as guitar rig, or other gives a very nice sound

I would like to improve it with incredible access: the Duesenberg multibender
which really allows an approach to a steel guitar pedal ... good but the price of bender 222 Euros is triple that of the lap steel !! but it's tempting when you see the possibilities as on this video

..and then more simple and accessible a volume pedal

I don't know half of you half as well as I should like, and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.

That Duesenberg multibender is a cool tail piece. It wouldn't work on my lap steel though - hollowbody gunmetal.
