Hi all, too cold to go and work in the garden, so, must be play time.  Hope you enjoy.   Willie

I lost ten points just for being in the right place
At exactly the wrong time
I looked right at the facts there
But I may as well have been completely blind
So if you see me walking all alone
Don't look back, I'm just on my way back home

There's a train leaves here this morning
I don't know what I might be on.

She signed me to a contract, baby said
It would all be so lifelong
I looked around  for a reason when there wasn't
Something more to blame it on
But if time makes a difference while we're gone
Tell me now and I won't be hanging on.

There's a train leaves here this morning
I don't know what I might be on.

Instrumental

Thirteen Twenty North Columbus was the address
I wrote down on my sleeve
I don't know just what she wanted might have been
It was getting time to leave
And I watched as the smoker passed it on
And I laughed when the joker said Lead on

There's a train leaves here this morning
I don't know what I might be on.

There's a train leaves here this morning
I don't know what I might be on.

Willie, wow those harmonies remind me of The Eagles. This is radio material. Such great songwriting and fantastic delivery on a Country-Rock tune. I love that guitar solo it's so smooth and well thought out - unless it was on the fly - either way great solo.

Excellent Job! One of your best.

Mach

I just noticed this is a cover. However, this is still top notch stuff, who originally did this song?

Sounds great Willie!

This has long been my favorite Eagles song (I did a version myself last year: http://brettbob.blogspot.com/2016/12/train-leaves-here-this-morning.html)

It's a Bernie Leadon song, and was originally recorded by Dillard & Clark, Leadon's band before co-founding the Eagles.

I too must be getting old, I listened to this earlier and thought I had commented,
Nice one Willie great cover, you get some great harmonies on your songs,  do you just do your own harmony or use your recorder, Sound so good.
Well done,

Alex.

oh what a beautiful song and great cover !

thank for the lyrics, it's very  useful for non-English speaking

all is perfect, specialy the voices...tell me if the back voices are made with digitech vocalist...because If it is yes, I must try this device (I have a digitech vocalist 4 but I do not use for recording)

and also special mention fpr the solo lead guitar (what are  your settings to have this sound ?

Bravo Willie
I don't know half of you half as well as I should like, and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.

Excellent cover, Willie. You really caught the vibe - love the guitars and vocals.

This one's a Gene Clark (formerly of the Byrds) song that was co-written with Bernie Leadon, who later went on to join the Eagles. The song first appeared on The Fantastic Expedition of Dillard & Clark, way back in 1968. It was redone by Leadon & the Eagles for their debut album, from 1972.

All that said, I was quite excited to see you had covered this. I have a few songs from Fantastic Expedition that I'd love to cover myself someday.

Willie, a real nice cover of the Eagles! The lush harmonies rival their vocals. The solo sounds great as well....perfect performances here Willie!
