Accidentally deleted all the songs on MTR mode BR-80

I've accidentally deleted all the songs on the BR80 in MTR mode so it won't let me record anything now, or import any songs.

Do I have to reset it to factory mode?

Can you create a new song?  See "Creating a New Song (SONG NEW)" on page 57 of the manual.

It's shocking isn't it - that I'd actually backed it up!

Phew!I backed up my br800 files to an external hard drive I then usually back those files to a DVD'r . Last back up was on external hard drive which I have lost. So not backed up to dvds, I most likely would never return to said files, but the anal retentive in me is heartbroken that they are lost.
