Perfect recording  clear as bell  , remarkable song well thought out , reminds me of that period just before you drop of in fairy land . then realize where you are , great lyrics , love the instrument mix you put in perfect for the song

Very cool and dreamy Hook! I've never heard of a Merlin but like ORH mentioned, it sounds similar to a dulcimer to me also.

Yes the Merlin is like an Appalachian Dulcimer but played like a guitar. Mine is the blonde one on top.
