thank you all the guys (and girl  ...it is nevertheless astonishing that there are, I believe, only two girls in SG community ... and parity then?  ;))

No one answered my question, do you know Stanley Meyers' Cavatina music?,... so I have to post a cover of this beautiful composition ... in a next post

it was while doing the first part of River of Tears that I realized that there was some similarity , not in the melodic line but in the structure; indeed it is a very beautiful melodic line on a simple guitar arpeggio 3/4

I have spent many hours listening to John William's Cavatina, some of them just enjoying the piece of music and many of them attempting to work out how to play even the smallest piece of it.

My friend and I did get somewhere playing it on two guitars, back in the days before before I knew anything about multi track recording, but I gave up ever hoping to play it myself many many years ago, I'm resigned now to just enjoying it as the classic that it is.

So I look forward with great anticipation to listening to you play it, not only am I sure I'll enjoy it, but I'll also be able to proudly say " I know that guy"

(Oh, and on a small secondary note if you wouldn,t mind jumping on a train plane or automobile and coming here, and attempt to teach me how to play it, you really would make a dream come true. Ill be doing my finger exercises in preparation.)

Cheers

I would love to go to Scotland one day ...

about Cavatina,

yes I'm going to do this piece but with two guitars one arpege,  the other the melody

as you know, this piece is normally made for a single guitar: it is an accompanied melody (as for example forbidden games...)

I had a period of about 10 years where I made only classical guitar I learned to play a lot of pieces ... but this practice is much too demanding and I came back to my first love: rock n roll , blues, country music, french varieties

I am now unable to play Cavatina solo guitar ... but I'm going to make it "two guitars", thanks to the re recording ... for fun and for you dear Ronnie  :) ;)

Quote from: my idol is Jahia on January 08, 2018, 10:06:57 AMIn a way, I can claim the label recycle II because it is an instrumental arrangement of this song of Clapton that I like very much and the tempo is changing since it is originally a piece in 6/8 so measure at three times and I did it in 4/4 slow

I've added it to the festival, but with a great deal of reluctance because it's not really in the spirit of the festival. There's more to RecycleFest than just re-arranging a song. The important thing is to completely change the genre of the song. For example, you could take a blues song and re-arrange it in a reggae style. Or a broadway showtune re-arranged as heavy metal. Or, as it says in the description of the fest, "a crooner ballad as a punk thrash".

A good example from our first RecycleFest (2011) is fenderbender's cover of "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For". The original by U2 was a rock/pop song and fenderbender has recycled it as a country/bluegrass song. That's the kind of thing we're looking for.

yes, I understand very well 64 guitars,  that it is a little borderline and I would have very well accepted that it is not included in the recycle II.
the recycling of this song is minimal indeed just a change of rhythmic signature  4/4 instead of 3/4

once again congratulations to the site administrators who do a very rigorous job
