Video Editing Software

I'd like to make a PIP video (clone myself) and wondered what the best/cheapest software would be (I don't have a mac).

Ive done PIP in Wondershare Filmora. Easy to use and pretty cheap.

Here is a free one https://screencast-o-matic.com/. I think it puts a logo on your finished video unless you buy it. You could at least try it out. My wife uses it and seems to work okay for her.

I use Camtasia and Articulate Replay at work. They work great, but they are both a little pricier.

I downloaded HITFILM 4 EXPRESS a while back

Its a free download, then it looks like you can buy additional add on packs for different effects.

I just wanted to create a basic video so I dont know if the free download version will do what you are looking for.

OpenShot is an excellent video editor that's available for Linux, Windows, and Mac. It's free and open source.

None of them discuss PIP or overlays but OpenShot can certainly do it. You just load each video to a separate track then resize and reposition the video that is to be the overlay. Here's a video that shows it being done:

Although it's not exactly picture-in-picture, you might be interested in this free iOS app (with in-app purchases) from Roland which lets you make one-man-band (or one-woman-band) type videos.

I'm still trying to do this. I've bought Vegas Pro 14 but am really not getting on with it.
