Acoustic Guitar Recommendations

I've got about 850 US saved up for a better acoustic guitar. Looking to go used more than likely (more bang for the buck.) Any recommendations?

I'm looking at acoustic electric with a cutaway, although the cutaway is not essential. Thanks for any help or insights you may have.

Actually the Epiphone production is at a very high level.

For that $$$, I would go to the top of their acoustic guitars, a new Masterbuilt:

I would second the Epiphone  bought the EJ 200 SCE for playing out now it is a big guitar but holds it own acoustically and is great plugged in

I'd have a look at the Seagull, Simon and Patrick and the Takamine.

All make very good guitars at that sort of price.

I 2nd the Seagull, check them out. Personally I dig Deans for the $$.

Yes, I agree, Seagull guitars too are at the top for that sort of price. I had one for many years.

Thanks for the suggestions. I can't think of a better way to waste an hour or two than looking at acoustic guitars on the internet. I'm gonna narrow down the selection and then go to the big city and try a few out, I think. (Unless there's something I fall in love with locally.)

If I'm not too late, I'll throw my two cents in. Check out the Breedlove models. They have many models that fall in your price range. I have two Takamines (360 and 341), a Taylor GS Mini, and The Breedlove (Solo Dreadnought). I've had the Breedlove for about 6 months and it sounds and plays ever bit as good as the others (acoustically or electrified) for about $500.

Seagulls are really fine guitars for the price. I had one of their first production models which I played for years, but later traded for a used Guild acoustic. Sometimes I wish I still had that Seagull!

Hi all, I have a Fender Tim Armstrong Hell Cat which I love. It is an electro acoustic with a Fishman pickup, built in tuner etc. The neck is very playable and I do start most of my songs with a track played on this guitar, can't recommend it enough.    Willie
