Ronnie asked if I'd do this one with him - it's lovely to do a collab, especially with someone I haven't done one with before.

He's done everything, I've just sang it  ;D

Thanks Ronnie!

That was a beautiful and enchanting listen. Superb vocals and arrangement - every part sounded flawless. Wonderful!

One thing - I did find the output level very low. You may want to consider normalizing the levels in the recorder or Audacity?

I don't know half of you half as well as I should like, and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.

I've normalised it in Audacity and reloaded. Thanks Cuthbert.

Thanks for all the comments.

I've been playing this song for ages but it has always been out of my vocal range, so after listening to Hilary's version of the Skye Boat Song, the idea of a collab came to me.

I sent Hilary just the guitar track I think, and bear in mind she had never heard the song before, she had the vocal back to within hours of me asking.

Thanks Hilary you did an outstanding job......

The extras are all from thumbjam on the ipad, except the drum, which I did on the BR Rhythm Editor, which I don't really know how to work , hence a very basic drum.

Thanks Again

Cheers

I'll come back to this piece Ronnie:

the voice and the recording of the voice of H, very much as usual

the sounds of thumjam are excellent , I find very realistic

the sound of the guitar at the beginning is really beautiful? How do you record: I can not personally have such a sound : is it the guitar, is it microphone, the two?

Hello Again,

Nothing special on the recording of the guitar.

I use my Moon 0003CE guitar for recording, it's my "go to" guitar.
For your interest, if you're not familiar with the make you can see more details here

http://www.moonguitars.co.uk/index.php/acoustic-guitars/standard-series/moon-guitars-model-0003ce/

I plug it straight in to the BR800, and record dry

I then transfer to Abobe Audition, it always sounds a bit "bassy" to me on my computer, so I take down the low frequency selection from zero to minus twelve decibels.

I add a bit of reverb, audition has a preset called "guitar mono".

Thats it really, so like I say nothing special.

I've always wanted to learn more about using effects etc to play with the sound of my guitar, but truth be told I kind of like it as it is.

Thanks for your comments and interest.

Cheers
