Thanks, oldrottenhead -- any comparison to The Flaming Lips is a HUGE compliment to me!

Kody, now I see why there are so many Micro users in here!  Hopefully the Micro-people won't boycott the rest of us, haha.

Hey, I finally posted a tune in this forum -- check it out in the BR-1600 section and let me know what you think!

Geir

Hi and welcome from Norway.
Loved your "If I Walked with the Dead". You really put a lot of work into those songs. Listened to your songs on Myspace too. Great stuff!! Must be great to be able to play everything yourself!!! Much easier to do Lovebirds with real drums than having to program them (songwritingwise that is, not to play them .)) "Othello' Waltz" has some really nice twists and turns.

Thanks for the welcome, 48, Geir, and EVERYONE! ;D

Geir, thanks for the very kind praise!  It is both a blessing and a curse to play everything myself.  A blessing because I have total and complete control, and since I am not schizophrenic, there are no band arguments.  A curse because I am not very good at guitar, keyboards, or vocals, so I kind of have to fake my way through sometimes.  I really have to play within my limitations, but that is also a sort of art form in itself, I guess – doing the best you can with limited equipment, knowledge, and skills.  Luckily for me, I was a drummer before I taught myself to play anything else, so that does help in the drums dept.  I get very frustrated with the tedium of the drum programming process, so for me, it's definitely easier to throw down the drums live.  "Othello's Waltz" is kind of a "dream sequence" within the concept album (it's about hippos in love, for christ's sake), but also a metaphor for my real life relationship with my wife and how I almost f'ed it up a long, long time ago, but came to my senses and it's been smooth sailing ever since.  No, I have no resemblance to a hippo, I just thought it would be different to use hippos in this particular song.

Hello Bosko. I didn't get to welcome you yet and you have already arrived with a huge splash.

You're going to fit right in I think.

We are here on Earth to fart around. Don't let anybody tell you any different
