This tune, perhaps more than any other, melts away my cynicism & takes me back to my '70s childhood. I thought I'd have a crack at it last weekend & it took about a day & a half to put together. I was so chuffed with it, I've released it as an Xmas single via Distrokid (who handle all the copyright issues etc for £1/month).

All the usual crew:

No-name bass
The Charity Shop Tele

Hope you like it!

Great stuff, JR. Love that harmonised section around 1:40.

thank you Johnny for this first christmas song of this year!!
...and it would be necessary to explain to me how you make these guitaristic sentences like at 1mn 30 for example, I would ask the Santa claus that it brings some to me like that :-\
I don't know half of you half as well as I should like, and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.

I don't know the original, but this is great.  Such a full sound, you did a great job on arranging.

As usual, great performance on guitars!  Everything seems in balance especially in the harmonies.  The bass

seems to come and go a bit but that's probably my set up.

That's the spirit I like to plug into at Christmas - upbeat, happy, positive.

I was a huge Roy Wood fan - and I guess I still am.  In fact I saw him play live in a sports centre in Market Harborough a few years ago.  His voice was not totally there  - a point that he acknowedged as he introduced a very attractive young lady who helped out a bit on vocals.  But I thoroughly enjoyed it.

And I thoroughly enjoyed this too.  Your usual soaring, fluid guitar playing .  Love the bells.

Marvelous.
