WoW...folks seem to be flockin' to this site like ants to a life saver. Really looking forward to seeing the difference from the Boss BR1600 Yahoo site. OK site there...Gene is a wizard. I have a BR1200Cd...just switched two years ago from a Fostex VF80. Been recording since '04. Just finished my second album of originals. I genre hop alot. I'm 58 and record in my cabin loft. I play all my own instruments and use no software, although i'm learning Audacity for editing just in case. I know folks that "do it all" on old BR 1180 and they are incredible...so i plan to stay away from software if i can.
I'm still not using the built in drums but plan to start soon. Using a Boss DR-3 and occasionally my keyboard. My main online site is at Soundclick. My "band" is the Pinecats, but it's mostly just me. Stop by if like. Look forward to meeting some fellow BR folks here.
                     Cheers....Pinedog

Hey thanks Osckilo, James, and Kody! Already a different experience from the Yahoo site...which i'm sure probably most of you have or do belong to as well. Is this site new? I never came across it with google searches.
As for Prophet of Peace...thanks for the supportive comments..BUT..it's important that you all understand that all i did was write the song and play acoustic and flute. Paul Killington did ALL the rest...ALL on his BR1180...and he swears he has nothing else...no software. He's a fantastic engineer, musician, and producer...and his soulmate, Maria Daines, is as good a singer as i have EVER heard..no exaggeration..together, they are amazing (she writes all the lyrics, he does all the music and recording) Can you tell i'm a fan? :-)) I was honored to do a collab with him. He uses the BR drums exclusively...programs by the measure. Says "it's easy once you get your head around it"...lol.
I struggle to find time for the internet but will do my best to keep up here. I am at my SC site daily to "check in" but just never seem to have as much time as i would like for cool places like this. Thanks again for the warm welcome.

Bro

Hello there!

Hop aboard you'll love this place!

Greetings from Denmark!
If you loose track over a chord progression, play as fast as you possibly can. Nobody will know. Thats how they invented bebop.

Greetings from Atlantic Canada.  I have a MicroBR and just got a BR-1200.  The BR-1200 is serious piece of recording gear for sure.  Post some of your songs on our little site and look out for all the great comments that you will get.  Great music on your site.  I really like Crazy Together, it has that late 60's vibe perfectly.  Welcome aboard.  I am glad there is someone else with a BR-1200 around to ask questions and get advice.

Alternate Tunings: CAUTION: your fingers have to be in different places

Hi Bluesberry...Thanks for the welcome. Always wanted to visit Atlantic Canada...My brother took a nice vacation up there a few years ago and loved it. Thanks for visiting my site! really appreciate the kind words on Crazy Together...definite 60's vibe...just like Cosmic Train. What can i say...i was a teenager then!
I love my 1200. If i can ever learn to fully utilize all the bells and whistles...and do it with having to thumb the manual at every session...i will be thrilled ...and probably in my 90's ;)
I'll try to get a song up here later tonight and will check out your stuff as well.

Wiley

hello from the Iowa corn fields.  I got my micro Br in January and love this site. I have never checked out the yahoo one.  Everyone here is so nice, I have no desire to leave.   Hope to hear a post from you soon.

Hi Wily...good to meet ya. Iowa is way cooler than millions of folks know...a well kept secret! I just posted an acoustic instrumental under BR1200 called White Buffalo in case you are interested in using live mics. As for this site vs. the Yahoo site...so far, this site seems a thousand times warmer...and whoever built it..Pedro?...did an OUTSTANDING job!
