This is built up around a live uke/vocal take from the car. I added congas and percussion using my Roland Handsonic 10 & bass in the studio. The lead uke was then done in the car again then back to the studio for the synth.

1 congas (stereo)
2 percussion
1 u bass
1 lead uke

What I Have To Offer You
written & performed by Hook
i cant solve your problems
and i cant take away the pain
and i can't make you come to me
and share your hurts and shame

nor can I see the future to say
it will be alright.
but I will be there to get you through the night

love is what I can offer you

I can't bear your burdens
or fight battles for you
or hold your head up high
even when your blue

I can't speak your mind
or help you keep your cool
but I can empathize
when you've played the fool

love is what I can offer you

unconditional
never-ending
unbreakable
but always bending

The hook brings you back

Love the lyrics first off. I like the relaxed vibe, and it sounds like it's all  recorded in a recording studio, not a car. Enjoyed the tune.

There's a lot going on in this song. It would be easy to underestimate how the synth and bass color this song: The subtle, droning synth with a quality almost like a sitar or a hurdy gurdy, and the long sustained notes of the u bass. The simple uke lead line over those textures give this a Sting-like quality. Marvelous.

Only three comments on this song, including this one. What's that matter with you people!?

Great songwriting, Hook. Everything has put well together and the congas sounds so good here!

At instrumental places I got a bit JJ Cale vibe!

Rock on, bro!

Good song, and nice uke playing. The sparse instrumentation is perfect for this.
There are only three kinds of drummers. Those who can count, and those who can't.
