Happy Monday!  ::)

INDIGO

In the land of milk honey
Waiting for another Monday
The Antiques Roadshow morgue of Sunday
Like a vampire, sucks the sky grey

Flat-roof pubs up and down the nation
Give a good approximation
Of turkeys voting for their slaughter
On guillotines of celebration

But you dilute my blues
You water down these indigo moods
You dilute my blues
You water down these indigo moods

Pantone number 194025
Is the shade that's named 'mood indigo'
The colour of the nightfall in a churchyard
The colour of a distant freight train moan

Feels like it's been raining
Since the 1970's
But with the love and promise of your paint box
I can watch the colours bleed

Growing greyer as the times goes
In the bars of freaks and winos
Never grew the wings to fly so
I'll just day dream out that window

Turn me loose and out to pasture
Every day the world turns faster
But no-one knows what spinning tops are
They're from the past, and so am I Sir

But you dilute my blues
You water down these indigo moods
You dilute my blues
You water down these indigo moods

Pantone number 194025
Is the shade that's named 'mood indigo'
The colour of the nightfall in a churchyard
The colour of a distant freight train moan

Wow Tim you sure know how to construct a well crafted song. Your lyrics are so good. This sounds superb and the way you shift gears at the end was brilliant.

Subloodyperb Tim,
You are one hell of a songwriter and performer.
Really well done.
I always thought Pantone was some sort of Woman's Corset or something... :D

i do love a Green Monday, although i have only got to hear it on a Wednesday, Bloody magic Tim, intro and acoustic guitar is very reminiscent of flaming Lips song "Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots" but is still extremely green and original.

Life is not about the number of Breathes you take, it is the amount of times your breathe is taken away

Excellent songwriting Tim. Your lyric are always deep, thoughtful and chalked full of descriptive phrases. I had to look up what pantone numbering was, lol. Now I know it's the number for the color Mood Indigo. The bass pattern here sits so well in the mix that it could easily be overlooked...unless one listens closely and then it becomes much more than a bass following the chords. It's like an orchestrated instrument that follows, leads and harmonizes with all the other parts of the song. Nicely done!
