The story behind this cover: for YEARS this tune has been (and still today IS...) the music for the interval of a very popular Regional TV channel, but I had no idea about the title of the tune or about the artist.
So I made listen to it by the famous Shazam app, and the verdict was: Exotique, by Soul Ballet.

And of course, I had absolutely no idea about this band, Soul Ballet.  :D

But anyway it sounded good, or maybe it is because it's definitely inside my brain since it happens that I listen to it at least a couple of times each single day...  ::)

Anyway: Exotique.

Technical stuff:

Drums-bass-electric piano-pad: BIAB

myself: all the (MANY) guitar tracks, going through the Kemper and in some cases through the Roland VG-99 guitar synth.

Enjoy!  :)

WOW, listening to this in a dark room through headphones, my head got immediately filled and for a while I was totally just lost in the music. simply beautiful.

on a second listen i was amazed at the number of different instruments that are in there, but none of them are anywhere out of place, you definately have a great ear for mixing the right number of instruments in your music.
the listener has the option to try and work out how it all comes together, or just to appreciate the beautiful overall sound.

this one is definately going on my late night wind down playlist.

Thanks for sharing

Cheers

Your music is always outstanding my friend,
Many years ago I had a lead guitarist in my group, one of the best players I have ever heard, he used to record all the adverts and programmes on TV just for the music,
Well done.

Jean Pierre

glad to hear you again dear alfredo

very pleasant ...

Two questions please

- what is shazam ?  is it a website? which would recognize listening to instrumental tracks whose title has been forgotten?

As Ronnie said,
Quote"I was amazed at the number of different instruments that are in there, but you are anywhere out of place, you have a great deal of interest in mixing instruments in your music.

- do you use a Daw to mix,  especially BIAB Instruments tracks? (for example to have a volume automation during song)

good day Alfredo
I don't know half of you half as well as I should like, and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.

Merci Jean Pierre,

1) Shazam:

2) Yes, I ALWAYS use a DAW for mixing-mastering. I've tried several options, but at the end I return always to Adobe Audition. For me it's the easiest DAW to use.
My workflow:
- I prepare the backing tracks with BIAB
- when I'm satisfied with what I hear, I save the song as WAV fileS: I mean both the global rendered wav AND the single WAV tracks
- then I transfer only the GLOBAL rendered track to the recorder (actually I use the Tascam DP-24SD) and record my own tracks
- at the end I transfer all the SINGLE rendered wav tracks (NOT the GLOBAL rendered track...) from BIAB and my own tracks for a new multitrack session in Audition, where I work with several plug-ins form Waves, Ozone, Apple (when I choose to work on my Mac), etc.

Ciao!
Alfredo

Greeny

This sounds so lush and cinematic. Such a smooth arrangement too. The guitar and guitar synth parts sound great together. Really fine work.

So smooth and well played Alfredo. A nice cinematic vibe.
