I kind of like this song.

But,
when I play this one at our guitar nights, it always brings about the comment, said slightly in jest (I hope)

"Ronnie, all your songs are so sad and or depessing", got me to thinking, and Ive looked through my recordings and the guys may have a point, not sure if its says something about the songs I like to sing, ballady type songs that tell a story, or if I should actually be seeking help.

My answer at the time is  "**** you guys I kind of like this song"

This is a song I heard by Steve Earle, not sure if he wrote it, just me and my guitar, wanted to get back to basics for a bit.

So I'll put all the guys comments behind me (till next week) cause I kind of like this song.

Cheers

Bravo Ronnie,

magnificent song

I also prefer by far the sad songs, ..but it's true that it's not as good in Live as the songs "a little funny"

I can not get an acoustic sound like you >:(, and I try , and i try , I can't get no (known song)

what is the treatment and recording modality please?

can you put the lyrics in a screen? cause my poor english ;D

PS the voice absolutely good
I don't know half of you half as well as I should like, and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.

Not sure if these are 100% correct, Ive been singing this one for many years so I'm pretty sure I've taken some license with the lyrics to suit myself.

"My Old Friend The Blues"
(originally by Steve Earle)

Just when every ray of hope was gone
I should have known that you would come along
I can't believe I ever doubted you
My old friend the blues

Another lonely night, in this old town
If sleep don't take me first, you'll come around
I know I can always count on you
My old friend the blues

Lovers leave and friends will let you down
you're the only sure thing that I've found
No matter what I do I'll never lose
My old friend the blues

BREAK

Lovers leave and friends will let you down
You're the only sure thing that I've found
No matter what I do I'll never lose
My old friend the blues

Just let me hide my weary heart in you
My old friend the blues
