a rare occasion where the lyrics came first, was driving down Dumbarton Road the autumn light and colours inspired the title and first line.

so i made a drum and bass track on my ipad, transferred to my br800, then sang a guide vocal, then using the ipad, i then recorded organ and guitar parts to the remaining four tracks.

once this was done i bounced everything minus the guide vocal to a stereo track and then redid the the lead vocal, using my microbr as a mic via the line in. only two chords used mostly Em and some C at the chorus.

anyway

it is what it is.
Strange Light

The red sandstone tenements, glow in the haze of a dull afternoon
The dark clouds fight off the sun in constant battle
The autumn leaves like gold on the trees waiting for the wind
Then the rain spits and hangs in the air ignoring gravity

Time stands still in this strange light time stands still

Waiting for the red to turn green is the only thought on my mind
The destination doesn't matter just as long as I keep moving
Stop start start stop and the miles they all pass by me unnoticed
Familiar signs remind me where I am going

Time stands still in this strange light time stands still

On automatic pilot I'm oblivious to all that surrounds me
Then the sun breaks through and takes my breath away
There is beauty all around me and I didn't realise
That it was there all the time just waiting for me to see

Time stands still in this strange light time stands still
Time stands still in this strange light time stands still
Time stands still in this strange light time stands still

Great song. Brilliantly plaintive vocals.

This one is going to the Pipod for further analysis. The simplicity and intensity is really compelling.

You have got quite an arsenal there bud and you use it very well.

Kinda dramatic feel with that driving bass, bit of a departure from your sound but being drawn in ended all to soon!

For some reason, David Bowie jumps out at me - a long lost Bowie song???
Just the occasional pronunciation simply just trigger that although I can imagine Bowie singing this.
Great tune.
